Description
It is one of the oldest breeds. The English Pointer is the ideal dog for hunting upland game. They can cover a lot of ground fast and it’s amazing to see them instantly stop to a point on a covey of wild quail. I’ve seen many of them work on the southern plantations of South Georgia. They are an independent breed with a sole focus of finding the bird. They are also the favored breed of the field trials.
English Pointer Hood Ornament – Dimensions: 2 1/2″ x 4″
This English Pointer hood ornament is cast in solid bronze using sand casting or the lost-wax method. It is cast and finished using the traditional materials and techniques Louis Lejeune has been famous for and features the Lejeune’s attention to detail and high quality.
Offered here is the most popular finish of chrome-plate over bronze. Chrome is by far the most durable of finishes and will last for many years, if not decades. It does not corrode or oxidize and can be cleaned easily with hot water and soap. It is the finish that Lejeune usually has in stock.
Other finishes are bronze-only, enamel, nickel, gold, antique silver and sterling silver. These are usually made to order and you can ask us about these options.
The base is approximately 1/4″ thick. The hood ornament is attached by bolts to the hood of the car, and the mounting hardware is included with each one. However, some hood ornaments are suitable to be attached by magnets. Please let us know if you are interested in this option, and we can advise if magnets can be used with the Pointer.
