Kim Diment – Wildlife Artist

Photo of Kim DimentKim Diment is an amazing wildlife artist and is a member of the Society of Animal Artists. There are quite a few paintings and drawings that capture the animal beneath the surface of what you can see. That is part of the reason they come to life on her finished work.

Kim’s love of animals started when she was very young and the passion continues to this day – not only through the art – but through the conservation projects she is involved with. As stated on her web site:

“She and the Anglers of Au Sables are teaming up to do a painting a year that depicts the Au Sable River and a native animal.  Last year Kim finished up the last painting in a series of 12 depicting Tahquamenon State Park.  “Art for the Park” used a landscape from Michigan’s Tahquamenon’s Falls area  while portraying a native animal species. These canvas Giclees can be obtained  by directly contacting Kim.   An edition of 125 prints was made for each year’s scene.

Further away from home Kim worked with “Grevy’s Zebra Trust of Kenya” which is targeted the dwindling northern herds of Grevy’s Zebra.

Kim has worked with Lewa Wildlife Conservancy in Kenya to raise awareness to the endangered species that are prevalent in that park.

Past projects closer to home include donations to “Ducks Unlimited” and “Trout Unlimited”, The Humane Societies of Iosco and Crawford County, local contributions to  Ruffed Grouse Society and Anglers of the AuSable.”

Kim works out of Riverworks Studio, but she also owns a very nice gallery in the heart of Michigan’s trout country: Main Branch Gallery in Grayling, Michigan. Most of the works here are just a smaple of what she does and most are sold and are for display. But some are still available, and you can contact her through the gallery or go to her web site KimDiment.com to see more of her work and see which ones are available for sale.
