If you think it’s just a jacket. Or a hat. Or a quilt. Look again. It’s actually carved meticulously and skillfully out of wood by Fraser Smith. Fraser’s work is what speaks volumes about his unique and amazing talent. Works are made with a combination of techniques that can make a worn jacket for example – look worn. After carving, Fraser might use different solutions to get the right pantina. Most carvings are stained with watercolor or oil-based pigments. As Fraser likes to quote: “If you find that you’re the only person in the world that does what you do… There’s probably a really good reason for that.”
