The 2007 Classic Chest has its roots deeply intertwined in Gerstner History.  The Style 41 Series of 7-Drawer Chests, which were made from the 1920’s to the 1980’s, were the inspiration for the Style 2007 Classic Chest.  The 7-drawer layout has been modified, with taller and deeper drawer, for use with today’s tools and hobbies.  The Style 2007 (originally called the Style 41D) was designed in 1998 by Jack Campbell and had a new and fresh look to their 7-Drawer chests and instantly became the best-selling chest in the Gerstner product line.


Originally designed for Machinists & Tool & Die Makers, the Style 2007 has grown in popularity and usage in numerous industries and setting.  Coins, jewelry, fly tying as well as guns/knives, sewing and wood turning are just a few of the areas that you would find this Classic Chest well suited for.

At each stage the lacquer finish is hand rubbed to give a lasting beauty and protection to the selected hardwoods. Oak and Cherry chests have a hand applied stain, Maple is not stained - this allows the natural wood grain to show.

drawersHand Fitted Drawers and Panels. Each drawer in a Gerstner Chest is shaped, planed and fitted by hand to insure an exact fit and smooth operation. Tongue & Groove joinery insures structural durability.

hardwareSolid Heavy Duty Hardware. All hardware...drawer pulls, corner mounts, carrying handles and locks are specially designed for a lifetime of protection, service and beauty. Some models are available with Brass Hardware standard. An optional upgrade to Brass Hardware is available for an additional charge for all other items.

Felt-Lined Drawers and Storage Compartments. The felt-lined cushioned interiors provide special protection against moisture and abrasions for precision tools.
lidsFront Closing & Locking LidA Trademark of Gerstner Chests is the exclusive front closing lid, uniquely designed to slide under the bottom drawer when in use. When closed/locked, the lid conceals the drawers to protect your valuables against theft, temperature changes and moisture.

The Gerstner 1805 Retro Chest is an ideal sized portable chest for carrying your collections of knives and other treasures to shows, guns and cleaning items to the range, or personal valuables you need to transport. The 1805 chest incorporates the traditional lid-pin system to lock the raised panel front lid into place when the top section is closed. Includes comfortable top handle for portability.

Choose from four wood options: American Cherry, Golden Oak, Natural Walnut and Rustic Hickory. You may also choose to have a personalized nameplate.
